A few months back, sitting drinking coffee on a sunny Saturday lunchtime, I took a call that, less than 48 hours later, gave me the pleasure of working with musical theatre star Leigh Zimmerman and her equally accomplished husband Domenick Allen.

The duo are about as high-powered as entertainment industry couples come; Leigh has worked extensively on film, Broadway and the West End, winning acclaim for roles in The Producers and Chicago, not to mention a 2013 ‘Best Supporting Actress in a MusicalOlivier for her role in ‘A Chorus Line.’

Meanwhile, Domenick – who plays pretty much any instrument you’d care to mention – has a lifetime’s experience in music and theatre, having toured with Liberace and Sinatra, and has been on the road of late with his show VINYL – The Classic Rock Experience.

A few first-hand tales of ‘Old Blue Eyes‘ and Mel Brooks later, we were busy getting a range of shots to promote Leigh and Domenick’s  show ‘A Love Affair from A to Z‘, which will be playing at the St James’ Theatre, as part of the London Festival of Cabaret 2013.

It was such an enjoyable and productve shoot – both Leigh and Domenick are such pros that we were able to achieve a lot in our few hours together.

And they seemed delighted with their shots, which have helped the performance to a near sell-out – only standing tickets remaining right now.

If you do head along, you’ll enjoy

Timeless songs from Charles Aznavour, Led Zeppelin, Kander & Ebb, Bonnie Raitt, Cy Coleman, Jimi Hendrix, Stephen Sondheim and many more will create a truly unique evening of music and comedy. Romantic, sexy, naughty and nice in one night…all the things a great love affair should make us feel!

“…but what makes it all work is Leigh Zimmerman…a blonde goddess with a five-star body and a personality to match.”
– The Times
