Explore an A-Z of Artistic Talent at Make Space Open Studios 2014

This weekend, over 60 artists (and me) will be throwing open their studio doors and unpacking their creative processes at my working home of Make Space Studios in Waterloo.

The Open Studios is a bi-annual opportunity to peer inside the workings of Make Space Studios – a rather unique and buzzing artists community that I’ve learned to call home in the last 18 months, nestled right next to the tracks at Waterloo.

Personally, I’ll have a display up of some of my film, theatre and personal work, as well as a chance to explore a working photography studio.

Ever wondered what a snoot is? No? Well, you might do now, and all can be revealed.

More importantly, the event showcases the creativity and diversity of over 60 fellow residents, featuring some truly world-class talents. As the press release says:

“Painters, ceramicists, illustrators, sculptors, print-makers, fashion designers, architects, set designers, photographers and more will all have work on display and/or sale throughout the weekend.”

And a café will offer refreshments and homemade treats all weekend, while there’ll also be activities to keep younger visitors entertained.

Oh, and I did I say? It’s free to enter.

I’ve been here a year and half, and I still excited when I peep into other people’s studios, so this really is an unique and special opportunity to get a close-up and personal look at some very talented people.

See you this weekend, perhaps.
